Brewers Trading Ryan Braun 'Becoming More Realistic' Possibility

May 2, 2016 12:02 AM

The idea of the Milwaukee Brewers trading away Ryan Braun to begin rebuilding "is becoming more realistic," according to Ken Rosenthal.

Braun can veto a trade to all teams except the Dodgers, Angels, Marlins, Rays and Nationals.

Braun is now 32 and he has four years and $76 million remaining on his contract after this season.

Rosenthal believes it would make sense for Braun to be traded to the Angels but they have a lack of quality prospects.

A relieved Jacob deGrom rejoined his Mets teammates Saturday, nearly two weeks after his son was born with medical complications at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida.

DeGrom said that 12-day-old Jaxon Anthony was suffering from apnea and would stop breathing while sleeping. After exhaustive tests -- including MRIs and X-rays and being hooked up to monitors for several days in a neonatal intensive care unit -- the newborn was free of issues for five straight days and was discharged Monday without any procedures being required.

Bonds Receives Ovation In Return To AT&T Park

Apr 24, 2016 6:55 PM

Barry Bonds did not expect a hero's welcome upon his return to AT&T Park in a baseball uniform for the first time since his last game with the Giants in 2007.

"I don't really have fans in San Francisco; this is my family," Bonds, in his first season as the Marlins' hitting coach, said in the visitors dugout before Friday's loss to the Giants. "This is where I was raised, this is where I grew up, people that stood behind me through thick and thin. And so I always will appreciate that and always have my love for San Francisco."

On Friday, Bonds was welcomed back like the prodigal son returning home when he came out to deliver his new team's lineup card to the umpires.

He was given a warm embrace by Giants bench coach Ron Wotus as the crowd realized what was going on at home plate. Thunderous applause broke out and chants of "Bar-ry, Bar-ry, Bar-ry" filled the air as the crowd gave him a standing ovation.
